The painting is all done... drying in the basement. I'll show you the whole thing properly once it's ready to take it's rightful place behind the couch:)
This, of course, is a portrait of my girls and a reminder that time flies and they are this way only for a short while. I'm happy with the way it turned out:)
Love the apple shirt! I assume you painted in oils since its in the basement to dry, I haven't painted with that medium in years-too smelly.
ReplyDeleteI am sure the girls will be thrilled!
Lucky girls!
ReplyDeleteThe painting is great. I really enjoy your work. I have a big canvas that is for a painting behind my couch. I've been trying to figure out what to do on it. Your post made me think about it again. Maybe I'll do something about it now.
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting! I find super the shirt with apples! The girls with hands under the "shirt's arm" reminded me that when I was a child I loved to stay with hands in that way!

I'm trying to draw directly with my program (inkskape is an opensource but it is like illustrator) because it is a faster way of working. Thank's a lot

Cute painting and great topic to paint about.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Girls!
ReplyDeleteEllen - it is oil. I actually like the smell of oil paints:) I keep thinking of switching to acrylics, tho.
It's lovely! I like the t-shits so much.
ReplyDeletelove your work!!
ReplyDeleteI like the smell too but its not too good for the kiddos!
ReplyDeletesome of my favorite paintings were painted in Oil and I can never get the same look with acrylic but its more kid friendly. My basement is basically my office ( garage under) so there is no where for it to hide. I love that you are painting though, its nice to switch it up!
I love your work! Really beautiful paintings and super fun and cute illustrations!
ReplyDeletesuch a cute painting! mmm tomorrow i'm going for lunch out with my girlfriends as a break. maybe i'll find some inspiration along the way!
