just add water . . .

It's really hard to work during summer. School is out... kids are home... the weather is good... the food from the market is fantastic... Working just can't compete with all the distractions that form SUMMER. I have the attention span of a 3 year old - and that doesn't help either. The only time I tune the summer out is when I watercolor (creating my own summer on paper).
P.S.: I know I abuse the punctuation rules (dot dot dot), but I'm sure your inner literature critic could deal with it:)

  3. So beautiful! You are inspiring me to break out the water colours. What brand are your lovely little cubes of colour? Water colour is something I haven't done for years! xx

  4. Thanks Clare:)!
I've got five separate sets going at the same time... 'cause no set is perfect... but the best watercolors I've ever used are the ones my mom brought me from St Peterburg (and they are called St Peterburg watercolors and are mixed with honey). Those are the best. But the Grumbacher watercolors are a close second.
Hope you do get to have a watercoloring break:)

  5. I am just in love with everything you design and paint! Have you every thought about selling digital colouring-in sheets? People could then print them onto watercolour paper and badly attempt (in my case at least) to paint them as beautifully as you do?! .. I know I'd buy them anyway! :-)

  6. These are so cute and how adorable that you added little faces to the watercolors :) Definitely makes it more cheerful to work.

  9. Your watercolours are lovely. The colours are so vibrant. Mine always seem flat. I think I need to upgrade from the kid's set of paints!
