lil' changes...

While getting ready for Surtex this weekend (printing. labelling, packing...), I've been going over some patterns I've done in the past and changing the colors... Here are some of my favourite results:)

Let me share a bit of my spring with you...

woodland spring...

Took a different root today during my walk and got into the 'green belt' area that's close by. It's just getting its green on and I was sorry I didn't take my camera with me. Maybe tomorrow. All the tulips are abloom and I saw some unusual colors here and there. Yes... tomorrow I'll take the camera with me:)

What do you think about my new 'woodland spring' pattern? One can never draw enough bears and wolfs:)

A daily walk has been keeping me in good spirits. It's been warm and sunny for the past few days... Beautiful spring weather. I'm not taking it for granted. I'm going to keep on walking:)

a daily treat...

My neighbours across the street are an older lady, her large black dog and an eccentric cat. I see this threesome everyday on my way to pick up the girls from the yellow bus. The lady walks the dog on the leash and the cat follows them wherever they go (about a meter behind). It's little comedy... wherever I can get it:)

letting the dogs out...

I've had planned a completely different entry today.... but changed my mind in the last minute, and decided to let the dogs out ('cause it's my birthday and I'll do what I wanna...:) Look how exited they are being out in the open.

the new girl...

I've missed you. I've been trying to sleep more and work less. Turns out, it's not as easy as it sounds. Something always has to 'give'. I'm trying to speed up the evolutionary process and break away from the physical body... oh, wait... I'll still need hands and eyes to operate the heavy machinery (Mr. Mac & Mr. Adobe)... oh well...:)

Bowie Style in Print...

Hooray! The long awaited Print & Pattern book has finally made it's way to me.... and, it doesn't disappoint. Beautifully put together and full of fun patterns and designs - it's a lot to take in in one go. It's a fine addition to my inspiration library.

A lot of people whose work I admire are in this book and it's such an honour to be a part of it:)

imaginarium...

Sometimes, simultaneously, two ideas pop into my head and they both want to be brought into life at the same time. So... I put the two together... and than, put the two apart (which resulted in 3 patterns). The abstract shapes serve as good visuals for kid-imagination... and the animals... well, they are kids.

Good things that went down this week...

• Lola got obsessed with 'Calvin and Hobbes' comics.

• Fibreglass kitty chair (a.k.a. Herman Miller arm shell chair) arrived and has been a huge success with the girls:) .... and no, for a change, it's someone else that drew on the furniture...

• I've adapted two more teak monkeys. I'm turning into a 'teak monkey lady'. That's a little scary. These are the last ones.

sunshine hopes...

I love spring... because after spring comes summer... well, and because the flowers and the birds really help to 'shoosh' away the blues:) There's a lot of grey and brown outside my window today, so I added it in. And the yellow... that's so more sunshine comes my way. Some sacrifice goats to please the weather maker... I make patterns:)
