This new pattern is all about the yin and yang. Balance. Being happy once you find your place in the world. Also, when it's raining, and you look up, it sort of looks like the drops are splitting right above your face:)
I'm going to work hard this weekend on my embroidery kit. See you all Monday!
Your work is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteGreat colors - love the joy! What program do you use for creating patterns? At my job I use TexFlash, but it is an expensive purchase to make for my home computer. I do have Photoshop. Just curious what designers are using at home - thanks!
ReplyDeleteDiana, I mostly use Adobe Illustrator. It's an awesome program. I've been using it for 10 years now and it just got better. Vector is great for reproduction in terms of resize. The lines are clean and edges are crisp. Let me know if you got other questions:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your input! I have messed around with Illustrator...I guess the thing I don't like is putting designs in repeat. I like to see my full pattern repeated vs. just the repeat size, plus lining it up correctly. I'll take a deeper look into it - are you self taught? Know any good tutorials? Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteBeing the most impatient person in the world - I didn't read any books on illustrator since Illustrator6. I just figured everything out by playing with it for hundreds of hours. I wish I could show you how it's done - it's so much harder to tell than to show. I'm certain that Adobe has a good tutorial on line.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS! I found some great tutorials online - think I will post them on my blog to share with others. Like I said, I do pattern design ALL DAY at work, but we have a super-cool program that helps generate them!
