My recent obsession : The 'This IS' series by author and illustrator Miroslav Sasek. So far I got 'This is Rome' & 'This is New York' (which I picked up in the big apple itself:)
A few years ago, I ran the San Fransisco marathon, and while there I bought the Sasek SF book. I love that book as it reminds me of doing the run, a great holiday and is really 50's in style, which is just perfect. They really are beautiful books.
I would be so happy if you could "create" your virtual shelf on anobi! It would be so interesting for me to know the books you love! :) Gaia from Italy

I just bought the This is Greece book from a library sale. I love the illustrations.
Love Sasek's work and this series is great. We have quite a few of them :).

I recently ordered 'This is London' and 'This is Australia' - still eagerly waiting to receive them.
I have "This Is London" & it's completely wonderful. Eventually I want to own them all. It'd be such a glorious collection.

What great books. This is Edinburgh inspired us to take a trip there.
These books are available from the Toronto Public Library but sadly not from the Ottawa library (where I now live).
