A new pattern today! I wanted to do something that would have a folk flare to it and here is what came out. I've made the more complex pattern first, and then used some of the elements for the simpler version (which I now prefer). And, turned into a silhouette, the first version could make a neat wallpaper or an inside of a book cover.
Somewhere there's a blank fabric waiting for this 'modern folk' design.

Wow! Extremely nice design and pattern! I love it.
Oh Helen! Look how great this is! Folksy woodland retro fun for the whole family! I would wear an entire suit (including hat and shoes) made from this, if i could! CLEVER CLOGS are YOU!
they're all lovely... i like the last 2 which i think work really well together.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! All of them!
Hi Helen,
It's funny how the birds in the ones that are not silhouetted have such a personality! The ones that are silhouetted would be great as wallpaper! I am amazed at how fast you can change colors, I have just started using a Wacom and it takes me awhile. I used to only create designs with paint, but I have decided to move onto the digital world.
I love this site, I love the first one. I put a few of these on my cell phone.
very cute, thanks!
I LOVE the silhouette version it's like many paterns you see, but hte more you look the more detail there is. it's more then just a fancy picture. Very cool!
i love your work! i'm brazilian and i would like to know if their prints are sold here. kiss!

Fantastique. Brilliant. A boom bubba boom! So many things ... walls, wraps, frocks, smocks ... endless opportunity.
I really love this pattern Helen! It would look good on softies too :-) My favourite colourway is the bottom left - red/brown/aqua.
By the way, have you heard of spoonflower? They will soon be providing a service where you can get your patterns printed on to fabric! Go here for more details: http://blog.spoonflower.com/
Lovin' the acqua colourway..but they're all super! I'm so impressed at how many colourways you've done - and they all work! Colour is always the toughest part of the gig for me.
I'd like 3 metres of the aqua/red/brown one please!
I love the first one. It really reminds me of the colourful Portuguese cockerel.
this pattern is so much fun and it's amazing how different the design looks in each color! the pink looks kind of like a damask until you look closely and see the bird profile.
