HAYON studio - inspires me today:)
This chicken has been rocking inside my mind for over a year now, but I just recently found out who's responsible for this green bird. Turns out it's Spanish designer Jaime Hayon (Hayon studio). He blows me away! Check out the HAYON studio and all of Jaime Hayon projects HERE. Oooodles of fun!

bottling the rainbow...
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could make preserves of all the awesome things in life... and open one up every time a dull wintery day like today comes up. I'd have a basement full of jars and bottles with labels like: sunshine, my kids smell, warm summer rain, black sea, rainbows...etc., A bit cheesy.. I know, but it's just so grey for so long... I got to make something up to get through.
Anyhow, this is a pattern that depicts a rainbow bottling factory... wherever that may be...

one head...good, three heads...better:)
Just wanted to stop by and share this fun find with you:) These adorable Jane head pillows really remind me of my three girls. I think I might be developing an unhealthy pillow obsession of some sort...

rimini blue...
This cool kitty is one of my favorite etsy finds ever!... As I'm still knee deep in fascination with Aldo Londi's Rimini Blue collection (and mid century ceramics in general)... It was one of these 'must haves' one cannot resist:)
It has been inspiring me with it's flower eyes and magical bluiness ever since its arrival. Me and the girls named her Sophie and came to the conclusion that she's too fragile to attend tea parties and should remain the guardian angel of the office:)
HAVE A SWEET AND RESTFUL WEEKEND!

mad about...
What kind of a fan of Mad Men would I be if I didn't share this fantastic find with you!? Not fan enough... I guess:)
Well, if I didn't already own a billion mugs & cups and my house was a bit more in the late 50s style - I would be all over these Vernonware California Raffia dishes (earthakitsch ,etsy). It is with heavy heart that I'm passing this opportunity to own a piece of my favorite series.

orla in target... soon:)
Thanks to apartment therapy and sfgirlbybay, I'm now dreaming of a trip to the US - just to visit Target. Why you ask... well, it's all due to Orla Kielie's new affordable home wear products that are coming to Target this February! I might have to make a trip just for the pear canisters and the beautiful apron. Oh, how I would like to exchange all the Wallmarts in Canada for one Target:)...

unintended humor:)
This illustration really made my day yesterday. My kind of funny:) Came across it while looking through Eric Sturdevant's kids book set on flickr. I just can't get enough of that mid century charm...

wrap it up...
Wrapping paper? Fabric? Packaging background? I don't know what's in the cards for this abstract angular pattern. I hope it ends up as something fun:)
Pssst: as I'm posting this, my wonderful agents Lilla Rogers and Susan McCabe are representing me at PRINTSOURCE in New York. I bet they've got the best booths in show!

adding some color...
I have always admired the way Volksfaden (online fabric shop) have incorporated the old black and white photographs into their site and ad campaign - bringing them back to live with the colorful fabric collage! What an awesome idea! I wanted to try too... so, I did... and I'll have to do more (when time allows) - because it's fun:)

where the wild things grow...
What a day! That's what I call - tightly packed. Kids stayed home from school and daycare today - due to stupendous amount of snow we've been blessed with. It's nowhere near the end of winter, but I sure am tired of white:( So... less complaining... more showing you my colorful 'winter free' pattern. I think it's 'weirdos anonymous' meeting in a wild garden. I could be wrong, of course:)

chirp... chirp...
Why not start the new year with a little bragging? I'm sure I've mentioned that my better half (Mike Sankey) is a luthier (guitar builder), and so, I wanted to share with you his latest (and my personal favorite) creation. I love the bird sound-holes and it's smooth arched back. Oh, oh, oh... and it sounds great!
Awesome work Mr. Mike:)
