happy colours . . .

I'm back from two glorious weeks in Aruba... back to snow and ice... readjusting to 'normal' the best I can, and trying not to throw "I want to go back" tantrums too often:).
This new print is inspired by the colours I saw in Aruba and by how I felt on the happy island.

Joyous Bloom . . .

The pattern spirits moved me into the direction of this blooming repeat:). Hope that it provided a much needed relief from all the white and grey.

tea talk . . .

Have breakfast with me... tea? coffee? sandwich? apple? Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. I think sometimes I go to bed happy... knowing that a hot cup of tea or coffee is going to be there in the morning:).

keeping it weird . . .

I've been too busy to do much personal work lately.... except this pink dog with an inside-out apple (here)... just to let you know that I'm keeping it weird.

For todays 'show and tell' - Mudpuppy's Fairies 42 Piece Puzzle that I've illustrated for GALISON mudpuppy. Flowers, fairies and a castle... all a little girlie heart desires.

Avian Spirit . . .

Here comes the avian spirit of the summer. The heat and the flowers... and the children spending all their school-free time outside. We better enjoy it, as it will spread its wings and leave us in a few months.

I still have 3 weeks until Anais's birthday rolls around, but... I've already got the little invitations all ready to go! Feels good to be ahead of schedule... even if it is a product of an evening full of sweet procrastination:).

my PANTONE COLORS children's book . . .

How happy was I when they asked me to illustrate this book? VERY! I've been a big fan of PANTONE® colour system ever since 1998 when I have purchased my first colour book for a design course in college.

The book introduces kids to 9 colours (20 shades of each). If you are raising a little designer or a little colour lover - I know they'll love it!

Nice, Round 35 . . .

Today is my birthday. I don't understand what happens to time when you get older. It just evaporates. Didn't I just have a birthday? When do I start feeling older and acting it? Never... I hope:)

The illustration is inspired by the chalk drawings my girls made last weekend on the dark pavement. Too bad the rain took care of them before I had a chance to take a pic.

So... as I was eating my morning cereal today and watching 'the Ellen show'... guess what? The 'What About You?' book was having a day in a sun! It's been a couple of years since I've contributed to that KLUTZ book. It was a fun project and it's nice to know that David Arquette and his daughter Coco love this book:)

Hello March!

It's been one tough February (full of flu and snow storms), and I am very glad that March is here! Hope everything melts this weekend (I'm going to go right ahead and get my hopes up)!
