Just finished this blooming floral pattern. Too bad it's not going to make it to Surtex with me. I don't have any plan for this pattern, but I think it's got a textile future. Flowers are not going out of style anytime soon:)
I'm finishing up some loose ends and packing for the rest of the day. So excited about going to NYC! If you have a favorite restaurant in Manhattan and don't mind sharing that info - I'm all ears:) I want to try something new and interesting!

i think we're inspiring each other.
see u there.
If you're downtown in Soho for lunch, try out Once Upon a Tart for a delicious lunch- they specialize in all kinds of yummy sandwiches and tarts.... it's on Sullivan Street, right near Purl Patchwork if you're familiar with that :) I just found your blog a week or so ago and you've inspired me to check out Surtex, just registered so maybe I'll see you there!
Hi, I really enjoy your blog. Mandoo Bar is my favorite restaurant in the city (and I used to live there). It's not a bar at all. It's a tiny little modern restaurant with homemade dumplings and other assorted noodles. (They make the dumplings in the window of the restaurant). It looks like a lunch place but it's good for dinner too. Entrees are like $10 and the dumplings are like $6-8. It's at 2 West 32nd St. (little Korea). Or 32nd street between 5th and Broadway on the south side of the street. If you go to Mandoo when you come out of the restaurant take a left (towards west) and there is the most awesome Korean Stationery Store a few stores down! From the looks of your blog, you'll love it. It looks like a cell phone place from the outside but look farther in and there's a stationery store on the first floor and a clothing store in the basement. Then go across the street to the Korean grocery store and find the candy isle. So weird and so yummy!
Helen if you can get in go to Buddakan in the meatpacking dist! or morimoto in the same area since you like sushi and such. I should be going there tomorrow night.
For drinks you have to go up to the top of the gansevort hotel in the same dist. Any cab should know how to get there, at night on weekends they have a dj.
I am about to go to sleep for my ride down tomorrow, and by the way I wanted to tell you to always put a copyright on these images since they passed the Orpah works bill you could have them used by companies without getting paid for it!! Its a big deal if you haven't already read about it.
see you Sunday!!
oops very tired its the Orphan Works! sorry my eyes are tired!!
Helen! It's Tanya (formerly of Paper Prince). I will be at Surtex on Sunday and will swing by the booth! Nolita neighborhood has yummy and cute Cafe Gitane. I stop there every time I'm in NYC. I once sat next to Jake Gyllenhaal when I was there for lunch. Dreamy. :) Have a great trip!
