Today I had the pleasure to receive samples of the Mermaid Castle Playspace that I've designed for mudpuppy. It turned out great! Me and the girls had fun playing the underwater merfamily that lives in a four room castle with its octopus doors and coral clocks. I've got a few, and so I've decided to give one away! BlueQ tea towels GIVEAWAY:)

What we've got here is a little tea towel giveaway! The tea towels aren't little tho... they are 20" x 28" all cotton, hand-woven in India and screenprinted with water-based, non-toxic inks... I had a ton of fun creating these designs for BlueQ, and it makes me happy that they will end up in peoples kitchens:)

first birthday!

A year ago today I woke up in the morning with an "I could do it" thought... and did it! Started a blog:) Orange I glad I did!

On a personal note, my love of vintage comes from the love for good design (first and foremost). I feel that some things have stood the test of time and are still influencing the future. Also, I feel a certain nostalgia for the days (before my time) when people were given more time to design, to purchase and to own. The time when mass-production was on a smaller scale, quality mattered more and the word disposable wasn't such a big part of life. I'm totally romanticizing, of course...

Oh... and lets not forget  that 'vintage' means - the girl next door probably wouldn't have it... what a great bonus that is:)

200th post giveaway!

I've got a lil' giveaway to share with you today! A couple of books to celebrate my 200th post! Yay!

"Dance" is an 'American Girl'  book I've illustrated a while ago. Here it is... finally out in print!  If you have (or know) a young girl (7 to 10y.o.) that enjoys dancing - this book is for her! Lil' Giveaway!

Got a few copies of a cute Quiz Book Who R U? in the mail today! Did illustrations for it a little while ago... and here's the finished product! Best part of the project.... getting that little package and seeing the end result. I think it looks super fun!
