I was hungry for some color. I've been working on a project that has non... for a while... and I needed a fix... thus this pattern. I think it could grow up to be a paper napkin or a tea towel... what do you think?:)

I love wrapping! Give it here - I'll wrap it up:) I'll make it look so good - you wouldn't want to open it... I mean it. That's the kind of cocky wrapper I am. Half the fun of presents is - presentation... but for me, it's not all that easy to find just the right kind of paper that would say just enough about the season and stand out at the same time. So... I've come up with my own pattern for gift-wrap. I hope it ends up on a roll:)

Watercoloring...

chestnuts, turtlenecks and lego...

My 'virtual' absence from the land of the creative blogging could only be explained by mountain of projects that I'm currently climbing. I'll post more often once I'll reach the top and take a good break.

Looking at the pictures above it has become clear to me that my love for turtlenecks has no borders. Somebody stop me:)... Everybody and their cousin (in my pictures) are wearing a turtleneck sweater. Well... at least it's fall appropriate:)

mental health day...

Every time I sit down to blog the first sentence that enters my mind is always 'the last few days have been incredibly busy...' - and than I think... well, which few days haven't been incredibly busy? When was the last time I thought 'boy... what am I to do with all this extra time?' The answer of course is... I can't remember. 

Last Saturday I've hosted Margo's little B-day party... and although everything went fabulously smooth and all children left alive and happy... I had to lie down for an hour with eyes closed... before the clean up and other 'to do' items would take over again. How much 'busy' could a girl take...

Turns out... just this much... because, this morning, after I turned on the computer ... I decided to turn it off and take a 'mental health day'. Girls were home enjoying their 'PD' day. Mike was home. My tv was home... we had a good day:)

Tomorrow, I'm going to open my eyes and have a real work day... 

target giftcards...

I did a few giftcard designs for Target this year. I've noticed that the two above are out and available... and I am exited to share that with you:)

Canada... at the moment... is Targetless, and so, I had no chance to see these cards in action... but, hooray for the internet!

Girls brought home these funny little crab apples from their nature walk. I photographed them and made this little ridiculous collage... to prove that they aren't all that crabby:)

I have finally got to taking pictures of my recent watercolors this afternoon. It was sunny. The kitchen table was clean and the kids weren't home. Mmmm... all has aligned:)

butterfly berries...

It's been tough to find some time for personal work. My plate has been full and my glass half empty... but nothing brings the good spirits back (for me) like a freshly baked pattern:) A few berries, a few butterflies and a whole lota color. Hope it brings cheer to you too.

So... there I was... helping this pigeon chick decorate for the party...

No... that's not what happened. Actually... I ran out of  'thank you cards' (that I put along with the prints into to the envelops)... and so I decided to make my own... 'cause I can':)

Hope it's a bright, sunshiny day tomorrow... so I could make some good photos of the watercolors to share with you later:)

today's plans...

Me and my tiny Margo (who's home - stuck with me and a cold) are going to watercolor our buns off today. I'm thinking ... CUPs:) All sorts of cups. I'll pretend to be a ceramist with big plans. Not sure who Margo would be pretending to be. We'll see.

Autumn induced hallucination... I mean - pattern:) Falling pretty, ornate leaves.

The real autumn, outside my window is a rainy cold mess of brown and grey. I felt like dressing it up a ted (right after drying it up with an extra fluffy towel).

Sitting in the waiting room at my doctor's office yesterday.... going through 'Today's Parent' magazine... I've stumbled upon this familiar illustration:) I completely forgot about it (with so much going on)... and it was a pleasant surprise.

p.s.: winter is coming and there's nothing we could do about it ... So... don't forget about vitamin D:)

Time flies. I feel like just yesterday I was making Margo's 5th birthday invitation... and here I am again. One day (soon) she'd be too old for these ... and I'll miss it... but for now, I better get ready for a house invasion by 12 snotty little monsters powered by cake:)

Stig Lindberg... the book...

I finally got my hands on the copy of this Swedish treasure - Stig Lindberg book (Stig Lindberg - Tusenkonstnaren).

Squealing with excitement like a total Scandinavian design junkie (that I am) I've gone over all the pages several times... wishing I could read Swedish. It's Ok tho... because I see it the way a kid would - as an amazing picture book. Hard to imagine that this tremendous body of work belongs to one man. Feeling very inspired now:)

I really missed blogging! Really!

I'm rearranging life (as I know it) and trying to spend way less time in-front of the the glowing screen... since the universe has blessed me with carpal tunnel syndrome. That pushy universe. I'm still cross with it.

Among new things that I'm getting used to is the - luck of coffee. I've quit it (yes, I'm sad about it) and substituted it with tea. I don't know why being addicted to a hot morning beverage is such a must for me... but it is:)

Anyway... I'll try to see you as much as I can. I believe in positive thinking.
