spring pattern:)

This is a spring pattern - designed to melt 5 feet of snow off my roof. I hope it's going to work. I imagined March 12 a little more spring like. I guess we'll have to hide the easter eggs in the snow:)

lego fun:)

Thanks to Retro to Go I  discovered a bunch of neat products from lego that are worth sharing. The mustached saltshaker really cracks me up!

I heart ceramics:)

Although plastic is fantastic in many ways, and I do own quite a few melamine plates (kids=break) - nothing beats the look and feel of a ceramic object! The sound of a knife hitting the side of a ceramic plate(ding!) is priceless in its own right. Here are a few ceramic beauties I've recently discovered:
3. Diana Fayt salt and pepper cellars found on Rare Device (I want one in each colour, please!)

a few of my favorite things:)

In search of  'the perfect wallpaper for me' I have decided to just put together a few of my favorite things that didn't have too much in common, but that would flow together and give food for thought if you ever had to stare at the wall in search of some. I love the way this pattern came out. The abominable snowman is my favorite feature. As usual, I had trouble deciding what colours would go best. What do you think?

all hanes on deck...

I've done some illustrations for this Hanes Wedgie-Free Wednesdays campaign and now it's out. I think it turned out well!

shelf life...

Here they are, sitting on the shelf, blink, blink... It would be much more interesting if objects on the shelf  could have a little conversation now and than. This shelf life pattern is all about the chatty ceramic life. Some of them are possibly antiques, so they have a lot to tell (for ex.: when we were young, plastics weren't so fantastic...).
I had fun making this pattern and I love this colour combination.

dots like to polka!

I love polka-dots and lately they are all the rage! They have been gaining some serious momentum in the past 2 years, but I've really felt it in the past few days while searching for the perfect swim suit. Seems like the dots are doing the polka everywhere I look. Here are some of my favorite dotted finds:
1. Reversible front tie silk bolero from Voom can be found at Dollydagger.
2. Riviera Polka Dot A-Line Romper Dress from The Ruby Red Company.
3. Slim, sleek polka dotted wallet from Urban Outfitters.
4. Salinas Mini Dot Swimsuit from Urban Outfitters.
5. Red and blue polka dot tea set for one from Dollydagger.
6. Jasmine Guinness Spot swimsuit by Oli.
7. F-Troupe shoes from tobi.
8. Polka-dot padded bikini from J.CREW.
9. Red and white polka dot slide belt from Dollydagger.
10. Polka Dot Smock dress (my favorite) from shopintuition.
11. Polka Dot Luggage from Beauty & the Beads.
12. Multidot party set from Plum Party.

Hello Girls!

Just finished this fun pattern today. This is for the girls! Tomorrow is the international woman's day (girls that grew up), so this feels very appropriate. Go Girls, Go!

there's something about molly...

Here is a little post about my own little tiny designer - Lola. She has envisioned the design and overlooked the production of her own little toy 'Molly'. Lola was very specific about the choice of colors, size, shape and was instrumental in christening the creation. Earlier today, Molly has been introduced to the rest of the gang and currently they are having a sleep-over at Lola's HQs.
I'm very proud of her! Little visions could become big visions some day.

hang on! coffee is on the way...

Having run out of milk this morning and unable to consume my daily dose of my drug of choice - all I could think about is coffee...mmm....
These are my personal coffee cups I've designed the inserts for about a year ago. I use them all the time. They are my feel good about the morning cups!

birds can polka:)

Polka-dots are everywhere and I'm loving it! Birds are everywhere and I'm loving it! Why not polka-dot birds? I think it turned out well.

go gama-go, go!

I've always been a big fan of  Tim Biskup's art. He is one of my favorite illustrators and is worth checking out!  I have found a web shop called Gama-Go and Tim Biskup is one of  the cofounders. It is filled with all sorts of unique apparel and nicknacks. The bird tray is my favorite (although it is very small and would only fit some change and keys). Also, the fire pillow looks very comforting as I am looking outside at the never ending wall of snow (is it really March 5th?).

animal chairs wallpaper:)

Ahhh...Wallpaper! I'm really glad it's making a comeback. I've always liked patterned walls. It gives so much personality to the house. I just finished working on this animal chair (metamorphosis) wallpaper pattern. It's a personal piece, but I sure hope that one day I could use it in my kids' room. I think I would use the yellow and bring in some sunshine into the room.

too cool for school:)

If you haven't already paid a visit to the ReForm School website - do it. Lots of neat stuff! I personally can't get enough of that tray (the illustration reminds me of my parents in the 70's). The handmade bottles (by Julia Rothman) are lovely, and the shifty eyes foxes are hilarious.

birds are singing, breakfast is served...

A couple of new patterns to brighten the day! I couldn't make up my mind on the brown or teal dilemma while making the breakfast pattern. What do you think?

fabrics at IKEA

I've been thinking of making curtains for the office. Something to mask the 5' of snow outside. Something cheerful! Turns out IKEA has some cute and inexpensive fabrics I really like. The little round trees pattern is a very good candidate for the job. Too bad Ottawa has the smallest IKEA in North America and I would have to order it via internet (I would have liked to see it in person first).

flower shower:)

Last day of February! Yeah! Spring flowers and showers are on their way. Here is fresh off the press flower shower pattern. It's crazy busy - just like me!

popcorn anybody?

I've just splurged and got this very unique and happy purse from MAKOOL LOVES YOU! I just couldn't resist its charms. Lucky me! I am dizzy with anticipation!

mark 1 more for the favorites:)

Marc Boutavant is a brilliant french illustrator and my latest source of inspiration. I just can't get enough of his adorable style. I am wishing that his books were in english though (so I could read them with my girls).
The 6 thick board puzzles could be found at couverture.

aquatic cuteness...

Just finished this pattern. It would work well for the nursery bedding or a little nursery art! I like how  all the sea characters have shifty eyes. Fun!
