got my long stockings...

I have not been this exited about a book from my childhood since J. Otto illustrated Alice in wonderland. When one of my favorite illustrators does one of my favorite books... how could I resist?! That's a must have!
Lauren Child ( an author/illustrator behind Charlie and Lola series) - made my kind of Pippi! Fun, quirky and charming:)
It's snowed so much in past couple of days that the yellow buses have been cancelled and the gang is all here today. Looks like we'll be reading some of the famous Pippi adventures today.... and maybe even tomorrow...

This book combo is one of my very favorites! I haven't snatched up my own copy since reading it last year, but it is one for the bookshelves.

This is possibly the best thing ever.

I saw this the day before in a shop and immediately phoned my sister and told her to hint to ANYBODY to buy me this for Christmas.

This is great! I knew I recognized the illustrations. My (southern california raised) niece does a spot on impression of Lola!

It's a very cute edition. I liked the original and I like this one. Lauren's illustrations are always fun.

Alice is one of my ALL-TIME favorite books!

This is VERY exciting. My fav version of Alice in Wonderland is by Australian artist Charles Blackman and I'm really looking forward to hunting this down, being a fan of Pippi from childhood and a recent convert to Lauren Child given that there is now a 2 yr old in the house. Thanks for your blog, I've only just discovered it and I'm enjoying it.

Peppi Pitkätossu is a lovely book and with this illustration even more lovely. We just read it and my daughter likes also the original Swedish tv-series although she can't understand a word. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3QVZ9DU7VQ&list=PLD4B513B5DB0E36BF&index=3&feature=plpp_video
